About Us
FEED was founded in the year 1996 by Mr.Ghiasuddin Babukhan, scion of a reputed business family of Hyderabad in association with like-minded personalities of the city who shared his passion to make a difference in the society.
Belief
Firm belief in 'empowerment through education and freedom through knowledge' as a sure path in building a better future for the society enabled the trustees to build and nurture an organization committed to its mission. The Trust operates in all the districts of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh through its centres, staff members and volunteers.
Basic Education - Schools
At basic education level the organization has established 91 Urdu medium schools in remote villages of Telangana State and Rayalaseema region of A.P. State. about 22,000 children are educated here by 165 teachers provided by our trust.
The organization also established (and manages) 3 English medium schools providing education up to SSC level in poverty stricken urban slums and semi urban areas of Telangana State. About 1500 students are being educated in these schools by 80 Teachers.
Higher Education Support - Scholarship Programme
Over the years FEED has developed and perfected systems that facilitate mass publicity of scholarship programmes, seek and identify deserving students and provide them with scholarship and support for intermediate (10+2) and higher education in diverse courses such as medicine, engineering, nursing, Pharmacy MBA, MCA, B.Ed, general graduation etc., thus fulfilling their educational aspirations and dreams of the poorest of the poor.
3 English medium schools in Hyderabad City slums and semi-urban areas and villages have been established. These schools employ 80 teachers to educate 1500 students. A very nominal fee is charged. Present Annual Budget is Rs. 65 lakhs. More than 1800 students have Passed SSC till now.
91 Urdu Medium Schools in interior villages of Telangana State and Rayalaseema Region of A.P. State ( with 165 Teachers and a total strength of 22000 students) are functioning with Government syllabus up to 10th Class since 25 years. The education is totally free of cost to the students. Books and Uniforms are also provided free of cost to all the students studying in these schools. Present Annual Trust’s Budget is Rs.1.05 Cr. In the last 25 Years more than 1,85,000 literates have been created, out of which 72% are girls.
